Georgia's Own Credit Union

Georgia's Own Credit Union is beginning to charge $5.95 per month for its checking accounts. I received a notice that my regular free checking account is being "upgraded" to a "Perks+ Checking" account. The new service will give us access to discounts and insurance-type coverage on various things.

I am sorry that our credit union is in such financial straits that it has to charge for checking accounts, something practically unheard of in the credit union world. Maybe if they stopped advertising so much they could serve their existing members successfully. I will not remain a member of this credit union.

Screamin' Sicilian Pizza Co.

This is the best damn frozen pizza I have ever eaten in my life. It is well worth the money because it is actually filling. I eat the Supremus Maximus (Supreme) version and it is chock full of toppings. They are not trying to cheat you here. This stuff is the real deal.

Updated reviews: Host Gator and Nitro PDF

Since I last blogged about Nitro PDF, there have been newer versions which have worked smoothly for me. Since it has a lot of editing functions, it is indispensable for my business which relies on emailing documents. It is a fraction of the price of the Adobe products, although it does not have many of Adobe's advanced features. I also use Host Gator for business purposes. My current websites may have less hacking risk associated with them, and so it does the job I need to have done at a very affordable price with a very helpful interface.

Swingline Easy View 20-Sheet Capacity Two-Hole Plastic Punch

This product is a poorly engineered mistake. It has alignment indicators that are supposed to show whether the paper being punched has been inserted evenly. However, on the one I bought the alignment indicators themselves were out of alignment, and they forced the paper into a crooked angle. I attempted to bypass this flaw by removing the defective indicators, but the devices were actually the only part that even provided a solid edge for the paper to rest against. Paper can still not be inserted evenly because the surface at the rear of the insertion area is curved.

This model is complete junk, and my files are now ragged.
